About Me

Hi there.  My name is Tamara and I am by no means a professional in the blogging world.  I stumbled into writing and posting because of my involvement in the nonprofit world.  I was asked to fill this need at a particular organization and I found this form of sharing to be more fulfilling that I originally expected.

There are two things you need to know about me:

  • Traveling and cultures are my addiction.  I started traveling at age 12 and try to do an international trip every year.  I firmly believe in today’s world it is very important for people to expose themselves to other cultures.  Whether this is through literal traveling or media exposure, globalization is inevitable and the mixture of cultures exists in nearly every country.  We, as humans, shouldn’t be afraid of the things that vary between us but embrace these differences and learn from each other.
  • Service is ingrained in me.  Growing up has made me see my parents in a new light and appreciate aspects of my upbringing that I didn’t value before.  My sense of service and my want to help others comes directly from my parents.  I am so lucky to have learned empathy.  This has been and will continue to be a common thread throughout my life and I hope to be able to dedicate my time to the nonprofit world.

I want to continue to share my thoughts, observations and experiences with others.  I’m not looking to change minds or persuade anyone.  I like the connections that can be shared through similar interests.  So I hope that you find something of value in the posts I create.

Thank you and have a fantastic day!
